Du Quoin Halloween Parade

Halloween parades are happening all over the country right now, I believe. This is the time of the year that kids and kids at heart get to wear a costume of their choice and walk everywhere, generally for the candies…How the tradition came into being, i don’t know…but we just enjoy being outside and watch everyone having fun.

The one we just had here in Du Quoin was no exception. It was a lot of fun…It is one of the reason to get out into a nice warm evening and enjoy it…

Everyone was patient. Roads were blocked and everyone lined on the sidewalks waiting. then the flag bearers started led the parade…

the huge flag was carried…

and then here comes the band…

and everyone young and old…

from the sexy…

to the busted…

to the whole family…

The costumes were all varied…

from the princess…(well she is dressed up but I guess not as a costume, )

to the fairies…

from the scary…

to the shark that swallowed a human…

but of course, these local events would not be complete without…the funnel cakes…
