this is a scene from a rural part by the side of the road.  the small store, is a basically a convenience store we locally call a “sari-sari store” (sari-sari is translated as mix or variety) or tindahan.

the store is basically just the front part of the house of this particular family, behind the wall of the displays is where they live.

what fascinates me in this image is the mother bathing the toddler on a crib, outside and by the front of their store. on the front of the crib is a basin-full of laundry that needs to be washed, which i suspect is her next task.  then, there is a pig either roaming or anchored by that palm tree.

i just love this image of a rural scene.
